My NHD topic is the cuban missile crisis. The cuban missile crisis was a time where the U.S and soviet felt threatened by eachother. Soviet leader Krushchev decided to place missiles in Cuba, in case the U.S ever tried to bomb them. Fidel Castro liked the idea, because he felt as though it would protect his land from being invaded again by U.S army. John F. Kennedy was unaware of the situation until he was shown photographs of installations of the missiles in Cuba. He decided to come into an agreement with Krushchev. I chose this topic, because I found it interesting how Cuba was involved in the whole Soviet/US warfare. Hopefully I learn exactly why this crisis occurred.
